K1 headlight bowel wiring - advice please
« on: January 22, 2020, 04:16:35 PM »
I’ve fitted the K1’s headlight brackets and trial fitted the headlight bowel feeding the wiring through to ensure the wires aren’t too tight moving from lock to lock.

From the K1 wiring diagram I can see the left-hand indicator green wire connects to the same 4-way connector block as the headlight green wire.  The right-hand indicator green wire connects to a 3-way connector block, even though the wiring diagram shows it as a 4-way?

This leaves me with a single green wire that appears to have come out of its connector, from the wiring diagram it comes Edit: from either Ground, the Regular or Alternator, I've just traced it back to the tacho bulbs! :-[ Logic Common sense tells me it can only connect to the 3-way connector. ::)

Grateful for some advice - hopefully the photo makes sense of what I’ve tried to explain.

Thanks
Andrew

On all my SOHC/4's the green is an earth, so looking at your photo, that spare green you have will just plug into the spare hole that is with the other 3 green wires. OK, K1's may be different but I doubt it 🤔 usually, as long as green goes to green, it doesn't matter what connector it goes in as they all go to earth.

Thanks Julie, that explanation and the wiring diagram now makes perfect sense - note to self: 'take off your old British Triumph TR head' when working on your Japanese bikes!  ;)

The next job is to build up enough patience to tackle the fork gator chrome 'beauty' rings........:D
