Gaskets and seals
« on: January 24, 2020, 06:28:49 PM »
Hi all,
Having been through most of the 400f engine parts I've pretty much worked out the list of bits needed but have a few questions I'm hoping someone can help with...
Does the NE gasket set which seems to be the widely available one (presume OK?) include the oil control gaskets or do these need to be ordered separately?
Are there any other gaskets not included in the set i should also get separately?
Does the DSS oil seal set include all the seals needed for the engine or are further ones needed?
Cheers,
Andy

I used NE Brand for my engine rebuild. Yes, the gaskets around the restrictor jets are included ( I have attached a piccy) The only O rings that are not in the kit and not in any kit are the extra ones I fitted around the base gasket oil dowels. This area was always prone to a leak on the 400/4 causing the base gasket to show a leak, so Trig always fits them to engine builds and so did I. There are no oil pump overhaul O rings in the Engine gasket set ( I sell the kits, shout if you need one). I think all the seals came in the seal kit from DSS, I will check with Trig though as his memory is better than mine 🙄🙄🙄

Thanks Julie,
Yes I'd like to get a set of the oil pump o rings if you can let me know how to sort them.
Also, do you know where can I get the dowel o rings

Cheers,
Andy
