Carb Float bowl O-rings
« on: March 11, 2020, 02:04:13 PM »
Anyone know of the correct size for these things? Where to buy also. Mr Silver only does "kits". Only need the O rings as carbs are done. Could re-use I guess, but would prefer not to. Also, the ones I pulled off seem far too large! Copius amounts of gasket stuff to hold in place perhaps when refitting.

If you can wait until early next week, I will have a fresh supply of the float bowl O rings (Viton) in to sell on my ebay page. (but just send me a PM instead). Iv just fitted my last set to a set of bowls this morning. If the ones you have removed seem too large, they are probably nitril and have swollen due to the Ethanol in the fuel.

Best order some more then.  :)  What do the 67mm ones fit.

500/550. Maybe 750, I can't remember if it's the same size for the 750 or different again.

When you buy these, the suppliers specify only 2 dimensions- the length and the thickness. You need 63×2. There is no distinction between ID/OD. Nice and easy

It's not the length, it's the internal diameter (ID) x the thickness. All my suppliers only use ID x thickness. Anyways, to answer Oggers question its 63mm ID.

Nurse - well yes, and thanks for the confirmation. Plenty on Fleabay. Took the bowls off, gave them a clean, thought a bit, then gave them a wet and dry polish, then thought a bit more and got the polishing mop out. They now look very shiny and spiffing. I'll just have to bring the rest of the bike up to match now! Small ball bearing behind the choke lever cam looks a swine to re-install. Blob of grease I think........
