AGV X3000 Helmet thoughts
« on: March 18, 2020, 08:00:40 AM »
Morning

Wanting to change my helmet and am looking at the XGV X3000 which can be had for a decent price online if you search around

Wondered if anyone has experience of owning one and their thoughts ?

Also sizing ...... I'm an XL in Shoei J Lo but can be XXL in some makes due to my large oval head !! so if anyone happens to have had both - details on if sizing is comparable would be good

Thanks

Simon

I stopped buying AGV helmets some time ago as I encountered issues with the lining of a couple.Bought an Arai which didn’t suit shape of my bonce so bought the first of my Shoei helmets and still using them on my fifth.I tend to avoid flashy paint jobs and last two Been same model so can use same dark visor/pin locks.I bought an AGV Agostini replica helmet 1976 was a quality helmet then😁

I wear AGV helmets and looked at the X3000 but it seems tinted visors aren't available for them.

I wanted it, badly. But when I tried one, it was either too big or too small. So had to gave it up... But they are really nice!

I don’t like the seat belt type straps on AGV’s assuming they still only do them, prefer the D rings.
I used to like/buy Shark helmets but don’t like them for same reason.I sent the last AGV away to be “inspected” on warranty and bought a cheap Shark to wear.

I think it has the standard D ring fastener .... managed to order an XL in black / white using the ebay 10% off code and an offer to the seller meant it came in at £229 ...... also can return if it doesn't fit so thought worth a punt

Will report back :)

I like AGV's, they fit my head and are always quiet. Unlike my Shoei that is as noisy as hell. I bought an Arai chaser a couple of years ago, it fits well but not as quiet as the AGV by any stretch. AGV's always seem to be on the larger side, I'm a 54cm on AGV's but 56 on Shoei and Arai.

Cheers - fingers crossed that my head may well indeed squeeze in it !!

Nice hat.  Don't forget to wear it when shopping in the supermarket for some non-existant food, its getting a bit lively out there!
