Paint it black
« on: March 18, 2020, 11:01:13 AM »
Rubbing down and refreshing a few bits for a US import 400/4. Unsure of the original balck finish - matt, satinor gloss, or even something else? for the following

Top yoke
Bottom yoke
Front brake calipers
Instrument mounting brackett - for speedo and rev counter

Satin looks quite good but is it original? Quite like gloss on the calipers.....

I'm sure it is satin black for all. I had gloss calipers on mine too but it was hardly the original job. What I did was get satin black caliper paint. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381266711573

Kent400 will know exactly what to use, when he put my CL450 original tacho innards into a tatty steel case I'd bought on eBay, he matched it perfectly to my NOS speedo, without even seeing it.

Actually, its a very very dark grey, Johnny........ https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=black+fast+show
