550 piston rings
« on: April 29, 2020, 05:37:56 PM »
Hi Guys
Wondered if anyone can give me a bit of guidance on fitting piston rings in the correct order .
I know the oil control ring and the two thin rings go in the bottom groove but I'm not sure about the other two .
There is a ring with square shoulders and is the heavier of the two and the lighter ring has slightly chamfered shoulders, I have done two pistons today and put the heavier of the two in the middle.
Does this seem correct.

Like so..... This is a photo from my rebuild. Edit, all the markings on the rings face upwards.
