CMNSL exhaust - should I be worried ?
« on: June 05, 2020, 04:59:52 PM »
Afternoon

Had my new exhausts fitted for a few hundred miles and when cleaning have noticed that there is a bit of weld missing which is allowing a small leak where the header meets the silencer.

I realise that this is a small thing - should I be worried as to the longevity of the exhaust etc ?

I've raised a support ticket

Thanks

Simon

I'd only be worried if they didn't replace it with such little service!
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

The photo isn't showing up very clearly but it looks like the quality of that welding is poor to say the least.
Let's hope that CMSNL agree to send a replacement.

Nothing like the quality of the welding on the 500 pipes, those are as close to perfect as you can get.

I gather you didn't replace them all as the lower pipe looks to have some gravel rash or is it a reflection of the floor?
That’s a reflection .... they have all been replaced

I would suspect so ... I went with cmnsl as the exchange at the time made them cheaper - I may rue that decision :(

I suspect they come from exactly the same supplier and so who sells them is irrelevant!

I was very pleased with my CMS units and I think they use same supplier as DS anyway.

When I had a potential problem with one pipe after 2 years they replaced it no question and even paid carriage both ways

Great service

I once had an item that needed return to CMSNL (incorrect to part number) and it was replaced without problem.

Update

Just heard from a rather nice chap at CMSNL who says they will dispatch a replacement :)

Fingers crossed

Simon
