personally I ended up switching to a quieter set of pipes just because the rackett was getting to be annoying, the bike could be heard at a record 6 miles on one occasion, never attractted comment at mot or from ye old bill despite previous owner being part of a group who visited rallys in convoy and were always getting stopped, mine was the only bike to never be examined or rider interrorgated, part of that is the sidecar effect though, plod seem to avoid even looking at old outfits, probably cos they have their own rules and are a bit of a minefield to figure out legally.
