Pilot jet query
« on: June 17, 2020, 01:47:53 PM »
069a cb550f2.
I'm renowned for ordering wrong parts but this is crazy.  The small jet is out my carbs, snapped obviously. The middle one I got from Trigger on here and fits my carbs but is obviously different.  The end one is from Ebay and way wrong. All down and marked as slow jet #40. Wont know if any work until weekend but how can they be so different if all slow jets and all 40s?

If you use Tapatalk it gives you the option of various picture sizes to upload.

1024 is fine. Any bigger is wasted.

Of course, the pictures have to be on your phone.

Downloaded an app "compress 2" and even I can use it 👍

Of the jets,  your original looks to match the "trigger" supplied one.

Just that the "trigger" jet takes fuel from lower in the float bowls,  perhaps they were changed to make them less susceptible to any lowered/impaired float level discrepancy to give more reliable slow jet metering.  They look like they do the same thing though, assuming the clearance in your float bowl is ok.

The third example doesn't look like it will fit at tall.

The one Trigger has sent you, is the correct one.

069A carbs used 38 pilot jets not 40 so they are all wrong.
You are correct Ken. Gordy has pods fitted though, so some change would have been made to jetting to accommodate the pods.

Sorry folks, yes should have said. 40s due to custom pods and as it idled/ran well enough low dow etc I'd like to retain them.

Delta rider. I wouldnt doubt Trigger for a second 😉

K2-K6  interesting, thanks. Hadn't thought of it like that at all. I have a spare trigger one arriving tomorrow from david silver. I'll maybe use them in the two central carbs so not just one is different albeit same ish👍

If they are non standard chances are they are aftermarket so could well be a different design that the suppliers insist will work exactly the same!!

I'd be happy with that scenario  🤞
