750 carbs on 550 K3 ?
« on: June 21, 2020, 10:43:27 AM »
It's a question rather than an answer,

Has anyone done it ? I am looking for alternatives to the horrible PD carbs on my K3 550, I have read somewhere that the 750 carbs are a good upgrade, one because they work better and as my bike is 605cc with a 650 cam it will benefit from the bigger carbs (+2mm ?),

Advice on the possibility, any pitfalls and the best type of carbs to look for is appreciated,

Thanks

I tried, engine ran with a snarl, I never got to doing plug chops as it spat back through the carbs and burst into flames, I melted the wring loom, seat, side panels before I managed to get the garden hose into the garage and put it out. Oh the sh!t we did when young.

Later I took two of the carbs off the 750 bank and used them on my CB/CL/72/77/350, with much more success.
