« on: July 02, 2020, 11:50:08 AM »
Hi everyone,

I have a set of 341 exhausts which are in pretty good condition, but I'd like t get them rechromed,   has anybody found a supplier willing to do this,  I am struggling to find one.

Pretty sure that Prestige in Mexborough will do them but not used myself. I once got a quote from Classics & Chrome in Hinkley for a pair of one-piece CB250 exhausts and it was £250 the pair so I guess a set of 750 pipes is going to be £500-600. They require all traces of oil and carbon removing before chroming and that can add a long time to the turnaround because a lot of places leave them dipped in hot caustic soda for several weeks. Hope this helps.

I had my Suzuki GS750 Exhaust Pipes rechromed a few months ago by Classics and Chrome in Hinckley. He did an excellent job of them.......HOWEVER he said that he won't touch Silencers !

Before I sent my Exhaust pipes, I had a chat with him and he was adamant that he won't rechrome silencers.

Are you sure you don't mean Aaron Walkinshaw Alan?.. the guy I am talking about is David McFie who works from the same premises as Aaron now in Hickley and he definitely used to do silencers.

Funny setup there David McFie is Classics & Chrome and  set it up there originally and Aaron was originally working from Coventry. Then Aaron moved to the Hinckley premises but both guys do chroming AFAIK but as separate entities.  Thqat was last yera though dunno if anything has changed.
