CB500/4 50th celebration
« on: July 02, 2020, 09:09:30 PM »
Is anyone aware of a national event to celebrate the 500/4’s 50th anniversary?
I think it’s 2021?

And asking

Can't think of any others

If Dave Silvers not interested try Sammy Millers Museum, they put all sorts of meetings on during a normal year. Failing that arrange a meeting at Box Hill or somewhere like that through this forum??

Hi oldboy
Yes I was thinking Box Hill as at least for owners in the
south it’s easy to get to as just an informal event.
I might as well randomly suggest a date!
Sunday 16th May 2021 09.30 to 12.30
This might be into decent weather and mid way between
bank holidays.
Even if just a few turn up it would be fun.

How about somewhere in the Midlands.

Place with a museum?

What about the national motorcycle museum near the NEC?

Maybe both. I could ride to Box Hill for a local get together. Might need a van to go to the NEC!
But that would be a great location for a national event.

Ideal.

If we decide a date. I could ask them if they could do a special day sort of thing.

But being Japanese. They might not

Its going to be at the latest  March 1971 Bryan as the K0 I have is 3/71 and less than 1000 frame no.

Interesting Ash. Was the K0 even before 1971, or just very early ‘71 I wonder?
I was just thinking some time during 2021 as the relevant year, a month where outdoors is likely to be ok.

Brightona

Is a huge bike rally down on Brighton sea front think it is run by the "ACE CAFE" they start in London at the Ace Cafe then run to Brighton Don't think its not a set route so its quite relaxed, I have been a couple of times and joined in 1/2 way down what a fab day out live music and 1000s of bikes I am sure they would be up for hosting it as a group ?

I would be interested in a meet up north or Midlands  :) area, As Brighton is a long run but do want to do the Ace Cafe to Brighton before I need to fit stabilisers to the bike ! !  ;D
KEEPING IT SHINY SIDE UP IS ALWAYS A GOOD RESULT ON A RIDE OUT

Yes why not a few during the year to increase the options and avoid severe weather if necessary.

and let us not forget Somerset/Devon.  Exmoor is superb for camping, and lots of interesting roads, Porlock, Lynton and Lynemouth, Ilfracombe, Hartland etc...
