Does your bike sport the old Tax disc?
« on: July 23, 2020, 06:08:43 PM »
I just fitted an obsolete tax disc to my bike, they have been out of use for six years now, but like the black metal registration plate she wears at the back, it contributes to the 'look and feel' of a historic vehicle. This one ran out twenty years ago, my CB400F2 was already 22 years old then. I hope it doesn't get pinched though, last thing I heard these discs are starting to sell well!
I brake for animals!

Luckily I've got every single tax disc issued to my Z900 from the first one in 1976. A rare thing as most of us binned them back then, I know I did! :(

I took a photo copy of the original to save it getting ruined through rain, lost or in the unlikely event of it even being nicked.

I have a copy of a 1974 tax disk with all the correct details on.
Bloke does them at the Kempton Park bike auto jumble, think it was £5 for 2.

He has all years and months and has the details of how much the tax was, even a Post Office stamp for them.

I've got one for it, but I haven't got it fitted.
Now where did I put that 10mm socket?

I’m tempted to find an old Guinness label, as many did back in the day.

A bonus is you can no longer get nicked if a copper / traffic warden notices it! :)
