How do you check to know if your alternator is working on a 550F

Start it.

Run the motor. Switch on the lights gently raise the revs to around 2k.

The lights should brighten. Then dim slightly as the regulator kicks in.

Or measure the battery voltage and check if increases as it runs.

Easy 99.9% of the time they do BUT connections go bad, aftermarket reg/recs fail and you get too many volt drops accross the different connections in loom
