Brake Caliper Paint
« on: August 18, 2020, 08:46:00 PM »
I'm just refurbing the front brake caliper on the 500k2 - I have always used Simonize Satin black but thought I'd ask what other members use? Is there any spray paint that is brake fluid resistant?
Cheers

👍+1 on that Julie, it's good paint and I've never had any problems with it.
I always get the calipers bead blasted (not vapour blast). The bead blasting prepares the casting and gives it a rough surface for the paint to adhere to. The calipers are also quite an intricate casting and blasting gets rid of the old paint and muck from all the nooks and crannies.
Just make sure the first coat is a dusting, don't be tempted to spray it in one go. I usually apply four coats.
One can is good to paint four calipers.
