Yeah I had ankle socks on - its a Brit thing or at least it was 33 years ago or thereabouts 8).

Not even sure it was a Virago now unless it was a Greek Version or should I say Geek Version.

No it can't be a Virago as its not a V Twin this must have been a different holiday methinks with hindsight.

If it was Crete, here is a health and safety photo from about the same era.

Looks more like a CD250U engine in that one,  commonly known on here as Trigger's favourite  :D

Well crucial shorts though  ;D

That reminded me of a holiday in Rhodes that I went on with my girlfriend, this was taken on the road to Lindos, the curly hair was part of my post divorce revamp.

Some of the bikes were good fun back then, but the hairstyles and clothes sense was !!!!!!!!!
I still cringe looking at old photos, and wonder where my hair went.

It was definitely Crete as in our younger days we could't afford car hire so despite the danger it was always a bike! 8)

The Mrs and I fell off a rented scooter on a Greek Island, wearing full safety gear of vest, shorts and trainers. I remember trying to grab my sunglasses as they slid along in front of me.

I was grazed from my wrist to my ankle, the old crone who's step washing had left the shiny road wet, when her stupid son pulled out in front of me, washed the tarmac out of my wounds with wet cotton wool and salt.

The scooter rental place had asked for my debit card as a damage deposit. Rather than trust the guy not to go shopping online with my card I gave him my driving license instead. He should have checked the nearly new scooter closer for accident damage when I brought it back, as I was suddenly in a long sleeve shirt and cream chinos to cover my wounds - I was anxious to get away as the chinos were stuck to my leg, and I was starting to bleed through them. When I got home, sore and bandaged,  my biker mates found it hilarious, as I was racing at silly speeds in one piece leathers, Arai and back protector  nearly every weekend at the time.
