Front brake hose sizes question
« on: September 23, 2020, 12:35:48 PM »
Am thinking of making up some stainless front hoses

Does anyone know the various thread fitting sizes/threads. There are 2 hoses one goes from Res to union and has 2 banjos but not sure of bolt/banjo size

the other goes from union to Union to brake pipe connector and has a banjo at one end a a straight fitting to the pipe connector

Bike is a K0 USA model and parts list quotes different part no’s for the US and European models but don’t know if that makes any difference to the fitting sizes though

Don't know exactly for 500 K0, I can give example from my 550 K1 (1975), USA model. I investigated details as I did conversion to Europen (lower) handlebars. Only difference between US and EU/UK model is upper hose length due to higher US bars. All fitings are 100% the same.

So, I advice to measure length of your hoses, specify fittings and order them ;)

I advice Goodridge manufacturer - they have hose that is braided (modern, top quality) and looks like stock (but thinner in diameter). They call it "vintage black", you can order custom length and fitments like stock one
If I remember correctly I ordered lower 340mm long, upper 300mm - but you should verify that on your bike

Example of hose set as I got from them from Goodridge

Note: I finally had to remove that rubber grommet from hose (as it did not match fender hook) as on the picture and keep stock one
