750 K2 Left hand switchblock UK version.
« on: September 25, 2020, 10:19:44 AM »
Hello.
Pretty new here.
I am looking to get a new wiring loom for my 750K2.
I seem to have some sort of export model in regards to the left hand switch gear.
Instead of just a round horn button this one has square combined horn/pass button and therefore has 6 wires exiting the switchblock (I think this may be the UK,France, export version of that switch) compared to 4 wires of the US etc versions and all the ones I have seen in Austtralia ,that had a round horn button.
I reckon the wiring looms must be different to suit the 2 different types, but talking to DSS they did not seem to know.
So the big question here is, Who knows which wiring loom is the right one to suit a left hand switch block that is like this(see pic)for a 72K2 750?.
Thank you and cheers from the other side of the planet.

That's similar to what we have fitted to our UK model CB750/4 K2's Brad.

Sure does Julie. Exactly the same. Thank you.
Has anyone with one of these switchblocks bought a wiring loom from DSS part number DCBAA-341_000P and found it has all the right connections to suit.
Asking because the wiring loom is the same part number as US/Aussie  models that have single round horn button only.

The looms are all the same just sometimes there is an extra jumper wire and the way the horn button works can vary.
1 horn has power and the other terminal is grounded by button
2 horn has ground and other terminal supplied with power from button.

Easy to switch over , you just need a multimeter and know how to use it to sort out switch

I sympathise; my LHS has turn signal, horn/PA, and Hi/Lo buttons with 9 wires. On the RHS I have start and headlight Off/Lo/Hi switches with 7 wires.

With some jiggling I have managed to sort it out. I won’t bore you with the details, but I can now have HL off (Off), HL on (Lo) or pilot light only on (Hi). Not original, but ... well maybe it is original  ;D

However, that aside, during my researches - note the plural; it was a long process - I came across the attached partial wiring diagram which is allegedly for 1972 UK CB570K2/CB500 models.

It does have the correct wiring for your switch, if that helps.
CB750 K2 - Ridden from Belfast(SA)-2-Belfast(NI) & Belfasts, N America!
CB750 K1 - The less, said the better!
CB450 K1 - A work in progress.
CB400F Supersport - Rusty - not any more!
