Fitting rubber bits

(1/2) > >>

mike the bike:
I was trying to fit a motor on a Dyson DC14, I usually have to spray the rubber mounting with WD to get it to go in but a customer was whinging about the oily smell.  This time I tried something different.
Alcohol hand cleaning gel.
I used it at home to refit the airbox on my son's Lexmoto.   Best stuff I've ever used to fit rubber bits.

Bryanj:
I use silicone spray but if you squeeze too hard you cant find it again

mike the bike:
The hand gel evaporates off once the parts are assembled,  which is an advantage over silicon spray.

royhall:
I use a good spray of carb cleaner. Best to get it right first-time as you can't budge them afterwards.

Trigger:
Red Rubber silicone grease, that is what it is for  ;)
