Never had one of these, and have to admit that this does look the dog's doo-dahs. I'm probably going to put my neck on the block now, but whilst praising the highly informative set of photos, when zooming in on a few of them, they do show a preponderance of gasket goo being squeezed out between the crankcase halves. If this much has been forced in this direction, how much has been forced elsewhere? I'm happy to be corrected on this, as having said in other posts, I've only ever carries out work as far down as the barrel/crankcase joint, but I was under the impression that the joints are assembled bone dry.
