« on: October 30, 2020, 05:32:12 PM »
Hi,
Struggling to find anyone who can do replacement brake hoses and pipe for the old CJ250T.
Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers,
Andy

Given the lengths and type of fittings i could make you some braided ones, do you want to keep the end metal pipe?

Thanks.
Julie - I tried Legend first as I got the 400 hoses from them recently and they look really good but sadly they don't do any for the CJ.

Bryan - I'm trying to get as original a look as possible so prefer to have the metal pipe if feasible.

I had some made up by Predator a few weeks ago but when I got them the hoses are wrong and I think the pipe is also not correct. They are not sure when they can make new ones so I was hoping to find an alternative.

Cheers,
Andy

Have you spoke to Dan at Legend ? Give him the measurements of your old lines. I think they are the same as a 400 four  ;)

@Hi Andy   Silvers sell an aftermarket lower hose @ £21.54
CMSNL sell aftermarket hoses Upper @ 25 euro
                                                         lower @ 25 euro
But as Trigger says they do look the 400f set up Try measuring your 400 ones and compere with CJ250T

Thanks again
I did originally hope that the brakes would be the same as the 400 but sadly not the case.
The two hoses are both a small mount shorter than the 400 ones - by about 25 - 30mm which probably would fit but pushes the hoses 'out' of line quite a bit.

For the pipe it's hard to tell, definitely a different part number but I can't compare so easily as the CJ pipes are all damaged / cut on the old bikes.
Having a good look it might be possible to fit the 400 pipe but I need to get the front end together first to check for sure.

I think the difference may be due to the CJ having a slightly longer fork slider for some reason which shortens the hoses and changes the run of the pipe and clamp position etc.
I thought the forks were common parts until I dismantled the two bikes and found that one had shorter sliders and when I compared them to the 400 they matched up.

I'll give Legend a call and see if they can do 'special' hoses or only supply standard kits etc.

Cheers,
Andy
