Looks ok to me with metal base. Any experience out there  with this product?
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

Have you looked at Silvers site, also selling repro seat with metal base, about £83. I have no first hand knowledge of the product though.

The DSS seat is very good quality. The only problem I had with mine (and other have) is the rubber bumper on the underside of the seat is too high and stops the seat closing properly. I cut 15mm off mine, a five minute job.
By a Honda stencil from Piki and job done.

I've got one of them too, same issue with needing to trim the rubber too, but maybe it's because I got it a bit wrong I'm on seat two now because after about 18 months or so a split developed in the contact area with the tank ...see image. That metal brace that became exposed had left it's signature on my tank a little also, I've since repaired it with leather repair patches bought on ebay, like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6pcs-DIY-Leather-Repair-Patch-Kit-for-Car-Seat-Filler-Furnitures-Couch-Sofa-UK/233765738171?hash=item366d8616bb:g:sIwAAOSwcwlfn2x2 and also put some over that metal tongue. Some of the underside rivets were a bit rusty too, my bike does live outside though. Otherwise I'm happy enough with them.
