I think the straight caps for the inner cylinders are much better, for the angled caps to fit inside the recess they have to be fitted from the front, this puts the lead into an atmosphere where it's subjected to all sorts of things, mainly water spraying from the front wheel but also stones etc. The straight caps at least put the lead into a more protected position. The outer cylinders on the 550 were routed by Honda so that they approached the plug from the rear, the lead was clipped to the breather cover and one of the camcover bolts which to me looks far better cosmetically than having all the HT leads dangling from the front of the engine
