Best way to remove the old camshaft chain ?
« on: February 04, 2021, 05:55:22 PM »
My chain link splitter does not fit the small honda chain. So its a pretty basic thing I would like to remove my old chain to avoid me getting in a potential mess when I remove the pistons from the conrods. Don't want to risk getting it tangled up down below with a potential for casing damage.

What do folk here recomend  as the best way to remove a rivetted link ?

Just tie a bit of string or wire to the chain

I'm replacing it anyway I guess I could leave it as is until I split the engine case to replace the main drive chain.
