Fitting spark plug caps to HT leads
« on: February 09, 2021, 06:39:22 PM »
I've purchased new coils for a rebuild but they come without plug gaps - the leads are a bit too long which poses 2 questions ?

1) Is it ok to just cut the length I require?

2) The plug cap looks like it has a thread screw arrangement in the end to join the HT lead - is it just a question of screwing it on?

The caps are new also.

Sounds like a no brainer but I'm not convinced, nothing else seems that straightforward!

I've just done the same job, I had to cut the leads a bit as well, make sure you don't mess it up though! The plugs screw straight into the wire within. My real problem was mounting the coils.
