Z1 question

A quick question for the Z1 experts.
What was the engine finish for a 1972 Z1? I've seen photos of all aluminium engines and photos of black engines with bare fin edges. Were there different finishes for different colour schemes or for different  markets?

A 72 Z1 would have a black engine.

They went aluminium finish from Z1A onward.

Although it looked as cool as a cool thing, KHI were getting warranty claims from 1972 and 1973 Z1 owners who's black engine paint was falling off.

When the Z1A came out in early 1974 one of the differences from the original model was to delete the black engine finish. Here's my Z1A engine, before it went in the frame.
