I went out really early on VFR this morning as its forecast to p**s down all day from about 9 am.

If only I could have the will power to do it more often (get up early that is)   I had the roads to myself and although it was a bit nippy, it was a pleasure to be out on two wheels.   For once the forecasters got it right, its slinglng it down now as I write this!    :(
Now where did I put that 10mm socket?

I wish I still had the ability to go out even when I know it's going to rain. Too many years of car use I guess, plus an aversion to cleaning bikes. The best mine get (unless I'm selling one) is a hose off and when dry a good wipe over the shiny bits with WD40. That said, I have a 10 mile circuit that I use to run each bike in turn that I went round three times yesterday. Cb350F, CB450 Black Bomber, and CB750F2. I was going to go again with the GS1000 then the realisation that keeping 6 bikes running is an uphill task so I gave up. ;D
Current bikes:
TriBsa CCM 350 Twin
Honda CB350F in Candy Bacchus Olive
Honda CB750F2 in Candy Apple Red
Triumph Trident 660 in Black/White
Triumph T100C
Suzuki GS1000HC
Honda CB450K0 Black Bomber
Honda CB750K5 in Planet Blue Metallic (Current Project)

Had a lovely ride today, beautiful sunshine and quite warm.
Stopped off for a cuppa at a local bikers meeting place and saw this CB500/4 UK K1. Got nattering to the chap, who lives in Hull and he bought this new in 1972.Its had 4 different speedo's on it over the years so he doesn't know how many miles it's done and he's on his 3rd Genuine Honda exhaust system. It gets ridden very regularly, he maintains it very well mechanically but isn't in the slightest bit interested in doing it up.... he's in love with the patina and I don't blame him in the slightest. All round a good honest bike.

Passing through Marsden on the CL450, I had to pull in and get a picture of this free range sheep family chilling out in the middle of a roundabout, where the grass is obviously greener....

Another ride out last week on the Heffalump-Dumpaloon, we visited the 'Singing Ringing Tree', a steel sculpture on a remote hillside near Burnley, so called because of the noise the wind makes as it blows through the tubes.

I couldn't bear it, very dark and weird indeed!

I was more into Roobarb & Custard, and the Magic Roundabout. Apparently Eric Thompson (Emma's dad) didn't bother at all with the original French scripts, and wrote the whole thing from scratch to match the pictures.

At the end of one episode, "A Peaceful Day", when Zebedee called his catchphrase of "Time for bed.", Florence asked "Already?", and Zebedee replied that "It's nearly time for the news, and you've had enough magic for one day." The news was broadcast just after The Magic Roundabout.
