Oh dear, I'm very tempted, another 400/4 for the garage!!!
Trouble is what would you do to it, wipe an oily rag over it or restore it? If restoring you'd be looking at the thick end of £5-6k as it's so rusty even if it is original.
£2.5k is very high considering it's condition. I'll watch it though.
1976 Honda 400/4
1977 Rickman Honda CR750
1999 Honda VFR 800FX
1955 750 Dresda Triton
1978 Moto Morini 350 Sport
1978 Honda CB400/4 'Rat' bike
1982 Laverda 120 Jota

It really depends if the chromed parts, particularly the exhaust, are solid and  can be rechromed IMHO. If it's OK then I reckon £1,500 worth of chroming would sort it out. I wouldn't want to pay the estimated £2,500 without viewing it though.

I only came across it as my mate from York took his deceased mate's Norton Commando there to sell, which is in the same auction.

I know it's original but that is an awful lot of money especially considering there are also the buying fees on top.

Wondering what a guy I know very well from York's (sadly RIP a coupe of months back) Commando 850 makes.
The same guy (Bob) owned the 1st UK CB750, when it was a cheap ride-to-work & tatty hack in the 1980's .. he was a Brit bike man but bought the Honda while his Brit bike was being repaired.

£3,400?!

Whao!

I bought mine, in pretty much the same condition for £700 :))

As I first saw it.

Part way there. The outer mudguard was beyond chroming repair, so some isopon and a can of paint did a reasonable job. The chrome wasn't redone - too expensive; rather I had all the chrome parts powder coated. From a distance, looks OK?
CB750 K2 - Ridden from Belfast(SA)-2-Belfast(NI)!
CB750 K1 - The less, said the better!
CB450 K1 - A work in progress.
CB400F Supersport - Rusty - not any more!
