YZF-R125 My Next Project
« on: May 06, 2021, 08:41:56 PM »
I just bought this 2010 non-runner. It's not a classic but it is SOHC . Has some crash damage and lots if corrosion. It's been left outside for at 3 years. Apparently it was making a ting ting ting noise for about a month before it conked out and wouldn't start again 3 years ago. Seems seized now. Anyone on here have any experience with these?

Usually quite a tough little engine,  but very low oil volume on many of these singles.

Are you going to put some oil in the bore to soak then rock it in gear to see if you get any response.

But worthwhile looking at oil volume and condition first.

Looks an interesting project though.

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. I've checked the oil. There is some in it but it's off the end if the dipstick. Could well have something to do with the original issue.
