The problem happens when people remove engine crash bars as they come with longer bolts to account for the steel bracket the if removed and the longer bolt refitted------cracked crankcase

Hi Deano,
My original parts book gave 2 part numbers 90106-333-000 and 90101-377-000 (333 is the 350/4 code, whereas 377 is 400/4)
The book I have now is as you say - same number for both ??  One thing I have found though having stripped quite a few bikes, is that some have bolts about 2 mm longer on the right.  As you say, don't omit the washer under the head and always check that there is clearance between the end of the lefthand bolt and the casing
