« on: July 28, 2021, 10:19:42 PM »
I remember these NTV's very well as we had a couple of them as courtesy bikes when i had the bike shop. Nice bike which was the Successor of the VT500 and the CX500 before.

Spotted this one on ebay with only 580 since 1993  :o >>> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154542956941?hash=item23fb7a618d:g:2UYAAOSw6ftg~CB3

I agree Trig. I hired one of these from HGB in 1992 for my first trip to the TT (I didn't want to chance it on the 400/4 especially two-up).
The bike was great despite the high mileage of over 60k. The engines are virtually bulletproof if looked after and will go to 100k.
I actually got done for speeding at Kirk Michael on it, 37 in a 30 right underneath the national speed limit sign!

A friend has one in that colour, lives in Guildford where amusingly the local cabs are the same colour  :D

Never ridden one but they always (all the Vs ) sound so nice, looks like a good example.

But also like that one further down the bay page https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133828226161?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D233120%26meid%3D657f927cd3b5470ea23ccde9a4cc91ff%26pid%3D101113%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D154542956941%26itm%3D133828226161%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2563228%26algv%3DDefaultOrganic&_trksid=p2563228.c101113.m2108 bit of a mongrel but looks like really good fun especially if it sells anywhere near the price it's at.

Am I right in thinking there basically naked Deauvilles. Boring but great.
I used to work with some one that had one. He never serviced it and only put oil in it when  it was run dry and it just kept going and going. He eventully stopped riding it because it had a hole in the rad and he couldn't be bothered to fix it.

It got swaped out for a Pan and that was just as tough. Weeks after buying it a digger on site pushed it completely upside down into a trench.
Busted screen and scratched everywhere but otherwise fine.

The Bros was a import unit, same engine different bike in many ways including chain drive  ;)

Yes, the engine was also used on the Deauville until they superseded it to a 700 cc

Nice colour too. At that mileage, perhaps he should see if DS wants one for his museum.

Same engine concept... IIRC: Hawk, VT, NT, NTV, PC800, Transalp, NT650/700... share that platform...
Got my GF an NT700, she's quite happy with...
