Honda CD250 Reg cock up
« on: August 01, 2021, 07:59:11 PM »
As a lot of member are aware that i love these little Honda CD250's. There is one on Ebay that has been registered as an E reg. E was 01-08-1987 to 31-07-1988.
The Honda CD250 was released in the UK on the 01-08-1988 so, all are F reg onwards  :o

This one is totally original apart from the rear rack decal/sticker missing and the left handle bar weight  >>> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154551762144?hash=item23fc00bce0:g:o9sAAOSwWu5hBWkb

It is pretty much a brand new bike for £2K (with two days left to go). Even if it reaches £3K its a bargain and with added bonus of cheap classic bike insurance.

If I wasn't too tall to feel happy on a small bike I'd be tempted to go for that, as Tomb says, its a brand new old bike.

I notice that at £2k the reserve hasn't been met though, you can only find out what that is by bidding. I once accidentally bought a Jaguar in Bristol on eBay, unseen, by bidding lowball to see if it met the reserve, the seller had made the reserve deliberately low to keep the fees down, he was gutted, but honoured the deal. I had a difficult conversation with the wife when she came home from work. The Jag was fine, an ex lease car with brand new wheels, and got us to Spain and back in style.

I wonder what the story of that one is?  Did they sell  them in Brazil (where they were made) before UK?  That might account for the E reg.  I had an F reg one and like you Trig, loved it.  I paid 3k last year for my new Super Cub C125, so even if it creeps up to that figure, it's still a bargain.  Problem is though - they are only low mileage if you don't use them!

It didn't make reserve at £2.5K, so will probably pop up again for sale in the future, unless someone makes them the right offer in the meantime.

The advert implies that it was in a dealer's unsold stock when they closed down.
