Tick over
« on: May 28, 2021, 09:47:00 PM »
Hi again, bike is all put back together, fired it up and but when it gets warm, I've got tick over at about 1k or just over and the bike will surge to 2k then settle back then surge again, I'm thinking it might be an air leak, but I didn't disturb the inlet rubbers, I'm wondering if it's time to pull the carbs off again for the upteenth time.

I had something similar when I first rebuild mine, before you start stripping the carbs and inlet rubbers, check the basics. I found that when hot my carbs were not closing fully on releasing the throttle. I had oiled my cables which made them sluggish. In the end I bought new cables making sure they were tensioned correctly. Also the adjuster for the idle stop screw ( not the big idle screw but the choke stop screw, hope that makes sense) There is still is a slight difference between cold / warm idle and hot idle. Good luck
