Genuine 1st UK batch CB750 Auction
« on: January 09, 2022, 09:02:10 AM »
Again the usual 'one of only 36 b*llocks' in description but this is 3 VIN's down from mine and a genuine 1st batch of around 20 UK CB750's  VIN 1010379

This is a pic from my collection of CB750 pics of the original owner,  who bought the bike at the Brighton Show I believe. It was restored back to the standard it is now and the owner fetched it for him to look at.

Awww, I bet that made the old chaps day. I hope the carbs don't leak, it hasn't got any overflow pipes fitted.

I wrote to Mark Bryan at the auction house and he's amending the auction details.

It shows how strong the market is when, a well known motorcycle dealer paid that kind of money for a rare bike.
By the time he paid fees, VAT, transport. He is on a very low profit as he must sell with overheads, a 3 month or 3000 mile warranty  ;)

That’s what I was thinking Graham.
How can you run a business on margins that thin?

I'm not an expert on 750's, but shouldn't it be advertised as a sandcast? So their wording is going to limit the hits they get when prospective buyers search for an early model. Why worry about attention to detail when you only want 22,000 for it.

'scuse me mate, that diecast you are selling...is it the Dinky version?

It's not a sand-cast it's an early  die-cast .. it's 3 frame numbers down from mine.... 1010379  mine is 1010382 sand-casts ended in the late 7000's
