CB400/4
« on: June 26, 2021, 04:45:16 PM »
Hi Folks,
I have just bought ‘Nurse Jullie’s’ bike and I just want to cosmetically refresh some aspects of the machine. I want to remove the battery carrier but it seems linked to other elements of the bike. Can anyone please advise me if it can easily  be done and any tips would be welcome.
Also I guess removal of the rubber air intake is just a case of easing it off up up through the frame.
 Cheers
 Neil

Battery box is unbolt and wangle, air box with rubbers requires a degree in origami plus anglo saxon verbiage and elastoplast

Hi Neil.
You are probably aware of CMSNL anyway but if not, there are microfichès available of the complete bike.
Here's the link to the relevant 400 four F2 fichés.

This one shows the relevant parts of the battery box area that may help you.

Welcome to the Forum I'm in the early stages of a complete 400 rebuild. From my Memory I could not remove the battery  box from my frame it was impossible until I I removed the rear wheel and inner mudguard then it came out easily.
