Minor rant time Honda / DS replacement spares aaaaaaagh!
« on: July 22, 2021, 08:01:53 PM »
As I'm waiting for some gearbox bits from DS decided to do some frame building stuff.
Rivetted the Chassis Plate back on, fitted the centre stand with the new solid shaft.
Cleaned the stand spring & clamp bolts.

Then decided to fit the Honda steering lock - it comes with a blind rivett, two keys, spring & lock barrel - but they do not give you the little cover thing that the blind rivett holds in place.
Spent an hour looking for the tab thing to no avail ffs why is it not in the lock replacement kIt ????

The blind rivet doesn't hold a cover thing (escutcheon) in place, it just holds a thick washer over the skinny part of the lock.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

Interesting so I've just been misled by pics on the internet plus a poor memory from when I drilled the old lock out.
For some reason I could not find the lock in the parts manual. Thanks Mike.

P.S. No washer in my parts bag but there is an alloy tag on the key ring that presumably is the key number. It's possible but unlikely I have dropped the washer when I opened the bag yesterday.
