The M6 screw jammed the external linkage. It was outside the gearbox and jammed between the engine casing and the lever that the clutch cable connects to. Still need to find where it came from though.

Probably thrown up by the front tyre.

Normally they end up embedded in the rear

Has the bolt fallen out of the cam cover or breather cover? Check they are all present and correct.

Is something stray more likely to enter that area via the drive chain ?

Anything missing near the chain etc ?

Other side of the bike. The clutch is on the O/S of the bike. There will be further investigation of it's origin.
