I've noticed for a longish while that ticking sound nothing can get rid of that tells me I may have a pitted cam lobe.

Saw the horrific price of a new (unavailable) one on CMSL ... 960 Euros listed.

Can a pitted cam be repaired?

Most can be reprofiled or buy a performace? cam

A ticking sound may be pitted tappets or the springs on the rockers are located wrong side

If they are pitted try Newman Cams who are right on your doorstep in Orpington. They are very good and have reprofiled cams and followers for me on two occassions.

I can also vouch for Newman Cams, not on my CB750K2 but on my 38 Rudge on which they did the cams and cam followers.
