The rubber sump pick up pipe i/d size anyone?
« on: September 02, 2021, 09:29:06 AM »
DS don't supply the rubber hose for the sump pick up pipe (gearbox oil supply?) mine is in poor shape does anyone know the correct inside diameter please or a supplier?

Would silicone pipe replacement be okay as I have in the past obtained car brake vacuum lines and used silicone tubing?

Most Nitile rubber listings show max heat range as 110 deg C I would think hot engine oil exceeds this?

I have measured the o/d of the metal pipe on the filter housing - it's 6mm on the pipe discounting the built in olive so would a 5 mm pipe be too tight ?

My pipe arrived today enought to make several pick up pipes not bad for £2.17 sample.
They confirmed it was resistant to hot oil etc.

P.S. It's 5 mm i/d
