Head gasket

New gasket set, but with rusty cylinder ring. I’m guessing it’s not fit to use?

Anybody had experience or opinion on this?

Bearing in mind the amount of work involved to replace a head gasket I would not use one that is less than 100% perfect.

Not sure if a smear of Honda Bond woud be a fix or not - I have re-used a headgasket once but it was a BL Special Tuning all copper type that had been in place for a week on my Mini - it was fine.

Thanks, Julie.

Anticipated that might be the situation and a replacement is already on its way.

Thanks for the reassurance.

Incidentally I’ll be back next Friday so I’ll contact you about those o rings we discussed.

Cheers.
