mineral, part or full synthetic ?

what is best to run these old girls ?

(i am aware this had probably been answered before but i could note find a thread  ???)

feel free to opinion-ate  your favorite brands and reasons why.

I go with semi synthetic, Morris oils 10/40w, cos it's cheap-ish and seems to work ok with the engine, no clutch slip etc. by using cheaper (well than some oils!) I figure regular oil changes can be afforded more easily and be more effective than using top dollar oils. I did find comma semi synthetic oil which was very cheap didn't seem to suit my engine btw
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

I used to use Silkolene mineral oil on the wife's 550F2 & semi-synth on the 750F2 without any problems.

I think that nowadays the Comp 4 10/40 is the oil to use on the old Hondas.

In the past I used Silkolene and it was excellent.  However, nobody seems to sell it near me and I have grown bored of trying to find it so I now use the generic semi-synthetic 10/40 from the acricultural merchants.  It comes in a blue container with a white label and I think it's for quad-bikes etc.  It seems to work a treat and is very cheap, so consequently regular changes are affordable.

No matter which oils I have used in the past the clutch has always slipped a bit if pushed really hard.  I think, basically, the clutch is a bit rubbish and not really up to the job.  I keep meaning to fit stronger springs but I haven't yet found the time.
