What is the normal rotation of the engine when it is running as I do not have a kickstert installed yet I was just wondering. Is it clockwise looking at the alternator end ?

I would expect the tappets to be adjusted during normal rotation of the engine if following cam rotation?

Virtually all road motorcycles go in same rotation as the wheels,  don't think there's many exceptions if at all.

They experiment with reverse rotation on some of the Moto GP designs as a way of mitigating gyro forces in opposing the wheels at high rotation speeds.
