Can anyone identify these items please?
« on: September 08, 2021, 11:05:15 AM »
The big bracket came with my bike in a box of oddments it's not my rear exhuast bracket (I have that) could it have been part of the original system  any ideas please?

The two long bolts might have come from the front end somewhere as they were in a box with my Instrument bracket - obviously not original with the allen key head - they have a ferrule with some broken rubber bits ?

The two in the right of the photo have an odd hole in the ends?

I know I should have taken more photos as I stripped the bike down - at the time I told myself it's obvious - I clearly have not taken into account my Goldfish memory - yes the Castle in the bowl is a surprise every time!

Exhaust silencer hanger bracket and the 2 bolts at the end are headlamp reflector fitting bolts, no idea about the middle ones.351 on the fiché for the reflector bolts.

Interesting thing about the diagram Julie is that there are two cables going into the indicators yet I only have one....

Diagram is possibly of a USA model. I believe they had a 21/5W bulb in the indicator, the 5W part being used as daytime running lamps. It also shows a headlight plug connector which is used for a sealed beam unit.

Thanks for the two identified parts - my Motad System did not use that bracket - still haven't found where the centre two bolts came from - time will reveal!

I'm wondering if the bracket which bolts ( and holds the headlight?, No 306) to the top yoke has been damaged in the past and the 2 long bolts which are part of it were cut off and replaced by those bolts, they appear long enough.

The headlamp bracket bolts are all original - it's bugging me as where they came from as I remember they were quite tight. I'm currently viewing my recently retrieved strip down pictures. They are not long enough for the front upper engine mounting brackets but there is another bracket at the rear that is triangular with a stud on it for the battery case.

Checked on my photos it's not the rear engine mount triangle - I now think they were part of the rear number plate backing plate arrangement that is some sort of offcut from an alloy roofing section - there are not many other places left!

Ted, Oddjob may be onto something... check the plate which holds the instrument cluster to the headlight bracket and see if there are holes where the 2 posts should be..??  Just a thought.... [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
