Cracking tire

Has anyone had problems with side walls cracking on metzeler me 11 as in the pictures or would you put it down to the age of the tire date stamped 2013

Not any more I check my tyres every time I go out now especially when I’m coming to yours 😂😂

Most tyres over 5 years crack especially if exposed to uV.

No freezer the only thing I put it down to is it was stored in a cold damp asbestos garage the rear tyre is just cracking on the tread but not the sidewalls like the front but is slightly newer 2016 so will keep my eye on that one just wondering what to replace the front with might try another me 11 it’s now stored in a insulated building so doesn’t get so cold in winter any more hopefully that was the problem
