Saw some tank badges for the 550 for sale in a shop I was ordering from in Japan, £7.99 each. They were gold on black, 160mm long, 24mm wide, and screw centres at 67mm apart. As soon as I saw them I wondered if you'd be interested, free postage over £33, I bought 3 items, one a genuine Honda CB500 bottom end gasket set for £12.99, the other were the Honda logo badges for the alternator cover for the CB500 at less than half the price of DS. They had some sets of genuine Honda points and condensors for less than the price DS charges just for the points.

If the order goes through alright I may order some more bits, this was just a toe in the water buy.

very interested an putting a list at the minute. Those footrests Ken,after having a look the PO has done away with it altogether and used the hole for an awful exhaust stay, thing >:(

Ill need the bar,two foot rests, the brackets and the gear change mech and brake pedal it looks like. if Im still measuring, where from and where to and I'll get on it and fire you some dims later on.

I wasn't aware, mine's parked n/s against the garage wall covered in 'gubbins' and fishing tackle, I'd never noticed and assumed it  was the same set up as the 400. Nice one Bryan. Need a gear change pedal then ;D

None of the 550 sohc's had screws. The F2 and the K3 share the same tank parts.

I could be wrong, but judging by pricing alone screw on are cheap non standard replacements….at least for the F and K3 model anyway. Checking CMNSL, DSS and other suppliers suggests the same. Incidentally, the originals are listed as unobtainable, so I guess screw type non OE is the only option for some folks. I’m going to have a pop at refurbing my very rare original ones.

My K3 is push on type as well. I never found my original ones, lost during resto. But managed to source original replacements. While I was searching for originals I purchased replacement screw on type which was the only new type available at that time but they were smaller than the correct parts.

The source I was detailing some posts ago is not exactly panning out for me. No contact from them at all, 3 emails later and still no reply so filed a dispute with PayPal for a full refund. Now it's gets interesting here, got a reply to today with tracking number via Fedex, so they are claiming they sent it, went to the Fedex website, entered the number and according to Fedex it was refused by the recipient (that's me I presume) on 18-10-21, so yesterday they say I refused it. I was in bed all day but wife was in and no one called, no cards were left. So WTH is going on?

If I do get the parts I'll let you know.

Sounds dodgy - does the Fedex site give your postcode as the refused delivery address?
Could be a delaying tactic using false tracking details.
I had an issue a while back where I was fobbed off with false tracking information - it took a while as I use my credit card for all PayPal transactions (Not a PayPal Card) as an extra layer of protection. Took about 4 months & in the end my card issuer refunded me.
