Maybe do a little more than look at the youtube clip and have a look at the company... it expalins their system... and it is FAR from Just being a simple Single stage metallic paint job...

I know full well the "true" methodology of Traditional Candy Paint but this system gives excellent results (see some of their examples) and simple blending in case of damage... not something you can do with traditional candy paint (well most painters cant)

Other than that.... It was a COLOUR Suggestion... as per the Subject of the Thread.

My brother Paul saw my bike on Friday for the first time in about 4 months - he was very taken with the powder coating job on my wheel hubs it's a pseudo chrome finish.

He thinks matching powder coated chrome silver tank or the same paint codes as my Gold wheels for tank & side panels.

I was leaning towards a midnight blue metallic - now I'm in doubt again!!

I'm going to go with Blue I think gone off the transfer chain mail dip/wrap ideas - not sure if the same colour as the frame as I have the RAL code or to go for a darker blue but 90% decided on blue (this week).lol

My mate is a retired colour chemist he thinks a Cobalt Blue mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Tonight I loosly fitted the light blue fuel tank & side panel to see how bad the original parts would look against the new frame colour & gold alloy wheels - not as bad as I thought it would look.

Whats the view here - please do not be too harsh but be honest please?

Doesn't look too bad at all to me, difficult as you already comment, to visualise changes easily.

Reminds me a little of this, which I always liked. Also Gauloise when they sponsored in GP racing.

If you take a side on picture like your one above,  both sides, then anyone with image edit skills should be able to show colours different to that one. It's easy to sample the colour of tank, and edit just that colour for you as you asked before about.

That doesn't look bad at all Ted. My personal preference would be to have the tank and panels in the same colour you have done the frame, I think that would look stunning.

That’s something you’d have to get mocked-up as I’m not sure how those decals would look on a dark blue background?

I would get Piki to make a set in gold, to match the wheels.

Tricky question, Ted. I’d be satisfied with the original blue, but agree with Julie that a darker blue matched to the frame would probably look more ‘complete’.

I wonder if a gold tank and panels like the 500 would look too much out of place🤔.

You could ride it for now as is while you decide and paint next winter?

I'm on a tablet and can isolate it but only with basic image edit program (needs more extensive like photoshop) to make a layer, overlay onto original and change colour.

I agree with Julie and would go for a colour match to the frame colour but I would make it metalic to make it pop a bit otherwise it could be in danger of blending in and getting lost as one complete colour scheme.

Yes I too like Julie would go for a colour match with the frame, I once started a CB750F2 project and decided that it would be all red, everything red, sadly never finished it as I went overseas for work.
