Just bought and read this short book (seen it advertised in article in Classic Bike on him a few months ago).
Great racing and industry character who raced around the world Inc Daytona, IOM.
It's a great short read - more of a bookazine than a book. I've finished with it now and might be good to pass around the forum,

First read gone to John Webley

Bought most of my bikes from Bill Smith motors in Chester and saw him and Steve Murray (workshop forman) racing in the Isle of Man loads of times, Steve was very helpful for a young Dennis fixing bikes. I remember Bill coming 3rd in the Senior on a 500 Kawasaki, I bought my 500 Kawasaki from there as well.

I think he won the 500 production class on a 500Four in 1972 Dennis

Bought a VF750 from Bills Liverpool shop in 1982, what a disaster that was it spent more of its time in the shop trying to fix the horrific cam chain tensioner problem than I had it on the road but I cant fault the service I got from the staff in their Aigburth shop
