New 750K5 project thread.
« on: December 27, 2021, 01:14:56 PM »
Hi all. My next project, a CB750K5, is on it's way and was just wondering if anybody would be interested in me doing a rebuild thread similar to the 350F and 450 Bomber. Not sure anything new is going to be gleaned from it though as 750's have been done a thousand times, plus it is a lot of effort to do (which I don't really mind). Let me know what you think. Cheers Roy.
Current bikes:

Honda CB350F in Candy Bacchus Olive
Honda CB750F2 in Candy Apple Red
Triumph Trident 660 in Black/White

Honda CB450K0 Black Bomber
Honda CB750K5 in Planet Blue Metallic (Current Project)

I find project threads very informative reading.  I'm mainly interested in the 400/4 but other models flag up similar hurdles. Two threads on the same bike may highlight different problems that are solved in different ways -  perspective & restorer skill sets are very instructive. Also as restoration becomes more popular parts availability changes. The recent availability again of taper roller headstock Bearings that actually fit the 400 is an example.

My long winded way of saying YES please.

Is it a private import?

Yes....of course you should do a blow by blow thread Roy.........I have seen your rebuilds in real life and they are all splendid. As my eldest Daughter says - 'If you've got it....flaunt it' ! LOL.

There is always somebody new on these Forums and there are always questions that a newcomer wants to ask but is too worried about being seen to be naive or stupid........not that the lovely peeps on this Forum take the piss (unlike some other bike Forums), so let's see what you are up to and we can all share the ups and downs.

Your CB350 and the Black Bomber threads from the recent past were really interesting and the CB750 one will no doubt be just as entertaining and informative........don't forget that this one will also be in the archives and available for others who might go down that path in the future. Good stuff, done well is 'Gold Dust' when you are embarking on a journey into the unknown !

One of my 'mantras' when I was an Auditor and a Quality bloke was - 'If it isn't written down....it never happened' - so having a storyline and photos makes your end result that much more worthwhile - and valuable to any potential future Buyer.

Go for it our Kid.
