Motorcycle Live 2022
« on: November 23, 2022, 10:27:41 AM »
Has anyone else been to the NEC to visit Motorcycle Live this year. I went yesterday, and was disappointed with the show. It is the first time I have been since 2019, couldn't go last year as it clashed with my 60th birthday. There were a number of manufactures missing, Moto Guzzi, &  Aprillia being 2 of the big brands absent, but it was the absence of most of the small aftermarket suppliers who used to attend but now cannot afford to.

For me the highlights of the show were: The Jim Goose replica on the BSH stand, the Royal Enfield and AJS stands and the Kawasaki H2 supercharged engine  in a display case.

Apologies that I didn't take any pictures to post with the review :(

Any other thoughts?

I was intending to go on Friday but having read your review I don't think I will bother now as the new Guzzi was a bike I wanted to see along with the new Honda Hornet and Transalp. It sounds an expensive day out to look at motorcycles that I can see in my local 5-star Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki dealer (HGB) next March for nothing!
I went to the MCN London Bike show at Excel last January and that was pretty bad, you couldn't get near the bikes and the products being sold by the small stall holders in the hall were more expensive than on-line (it just highlights the costs of the rents in the show hall).
Add in expensive drinks, food, travel and entrance fees (and no free goodies as you used to get at the old Earls Court show) I just dont think it is worth it any more.
