Thanks for posting  :) Just saved all of the photos as an excellent reference on finishes, toolkit etc... like the carb linkages are zinc plated, yellow passivate ..which I always knew to be correct but many people argue was bluish passivate.

Showing some signs of light corrosion on zinc plated parts (spokes, rear torque arm  etc)  and crankcases but looks pretty genuine to me.

Interesting to see what it makes  £10k perhaps?

Who knows what it will go for but your estimate of 10K seems pretty close to me. It's a very rare beast indeed.

Yes, the images are a really useful resource - downloaded as well!!!

Couple of observations though .. not sure that front disc looks 'as new' and where is all of the yellow paint on nuts etc?

Yes, the disk does look anomalous.

Also:

I'm not sure is right - I thought where the speedo cable routes through was more "wire like", like this:

at least it is on my 75 400F - maybe it changed in later versions? I have a repro stay that looks like the one shown.

That said, I have limited knowledge of these machines and as we know, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing  :)

Maybe some bits have been swapped out?

In any case, it still looks very interesting bike...

The cable guide on earlier UK model (which also had the front number plates on) was different .. it was a 369 part as used on the CB250G5

I created a Dropbox folder with the pics in  :) link below:-

Engine number at odds with write up info, wiring harness around headstock??  Still a nice thing though but what do you do with it?  Thanks Ash for archiving the pics.

If it was bought for parts in crate,  then possibly not assembled by a dealer to the exact dealer set-up instructions.

Dropbox link is now included in my Dropbox section   ;)

The problem with this type of unused bike is what do you do with it? if you use it, it becomes just another used bike, but bikes are made to ride. Or it becomes a museum exhibit, useful for restorers for reference but who has £10k for that?
Love the 500 and 550 have a 500 called Lazarus under restoration

I've registered with the auction to bid on it, only because I buy things I don't need , don't want and don't know what to do with in the winter when the weather is shite and I can't get out riding often enough 😊😊😊😊
